Spring flowers and shoots at the Ottery

Yes! There really can be a spring in this part of Canada.

The first couple of weeks of May this year saw the beautiful transformation of grey and empty woods to a lush green, punctuated by wild flowers, and the subtly coloured leaves of trees and other plants unwrapping themselves in intricate, delicate patterns.

The chipmunks are especially numerous this spring, and the birds, as ever, always active in the trees.

The DRAGONFLIES EMERGING folder at the end is for those who like their bugs. While working on the gazebo I noticed several dragonflies slowly (over several hours) emerging from their larvae. Shot with cell phone, some in low light, so variable quality. The photos here are in order of life cycle, coming from several different larvae.

Mostly shot on Otter Point, but with a few from the Mica Annex
